After recieving my new Macbook Pro 2 weeks ago, I installed pages '09 from the install DVD and installed the updates. Right now I'm running the latest version of mac os 10.8 and iWork but it doesn't work.

After clicking pages, or numbers or keynote, the program opens but when I select to open a new document the program crashes, there are no differences between Pages Numbers or Keynote. Also when I try to open an exsisting document the message "can't open document" appears, when clicking ok the program crashes.

I allready tryed to re-install iWork several times, en ran the updates via appstore and downloaded them from the support website, I also deleted all the folders and p-list files in my library and re-installed iWork.

I also deleted the whole program and library files and then copyed iWork from an other mac on witch it is running fine, but the same problem keeps coming up.

So all the documents I made in iWork are useless on my new macbookpro. The guy of Apple Care wasn't able to help me find a solution. I hope there is someone who has a solution for this.

Thanx Koen

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Use the Disc utility in the folder Utilities and Repair permissions.

If that doesn't help try out Pages in a new user account. You can create a new account in System preferences > Accounts. Tell us the result

Thanks fruhulda for helping me but unfortunately the suggestions did not solve the problem, all the iWork 09 apps keep crashing. I will add the failure message of pages, this is the samen in numbers and keynote. It is in dutch it says: "the document "name" can't be opened, after clicking ok pages doesn't react, when I then try to open a new document it crashes, and when I choose open from template chooser, this is empty there aren't any templates.

Hope you can help me Koenfailure.jpg
