Q: cannot sync ipod to new macbook

We just recently bought a new Macbook Pro and I am trying to sync the music I have on my iPod to the iTunes library but nothing seems to be working

and I definately do not want to wipe out the music that is currently on my iPod, any ideas?  Thanks.
