If your specific Epson printer is listed in the "Printer and Scanner Software" link near the top, Apple will keep your software updated for you.
Regardless of whether your printer is listed or not, you will not find it explicitly in the App Store.

I hope this is going to be fixed soon, very annoying because it pops up every time i log in to my Mac.

For some reason the update was not available fron the usual software update but was downloadable from the Apple Support. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
No more annoying pop-ups asking me to update and then not doing anything. Hope this works for you, too.

Sorry, the problem came back. I then went to Apple support and downloaded the Epson Update from there. For some reason the update was not available fron the usual software update but was downloadable from the Apple Support. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
For the last week -- no more annoying pop-ups asking me to update and then not doing anything. Hope this works for you, too.
