I read the information on what is included in the iOS 6.0.1 update and that it includes a fix that "Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod Touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks".

Has anyone with an iPhone 4S that is having problems connecting to Wifi networks seen an improvement?  This is the only issue that I am personally concerned with and if it does not fix this I may wait to see what happens with iOS 6.1 after the holidays.  I made enough tweaks and adjustments on my phone to get a full day out of the battery again but I still have to fight to connect to the Wifi network at work that hadn't been a problem with iOS 5.X but as soon as I updated to 6.0 it has been a struggle.

Unfortunately I have the same WiFi problem too. The concerned option is always greyed out since I have upgraded my iPhone 4S to ios 6.0 and just now to ios 6.0.1.

I am really aidless and hopeless; thank you Apple! You are great!

I have the 4S, when I updated to 6.0 had no problems with wifi - then a couple hours later I had issue not being able to connect to wifi - when I tried it would take me to an Apple site.  But then the problem went away on it's own.  Since then I've had no issue connecting.

Updated to 6.0.1 yesterday - having no issues.

    wifi grayed out http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

    also try reset network settings.

This is a different issue than Wifi being grayed out.

I upgraded my iPhone 4S to 6.0.1 today and can confirm that it did not help the issue I have of constantly becoming disconnected from my home and office wifi networks.    I've tried many fixes including resetting network setting but these help only temporarily.

This issue is costing me $20 /mo in additional data charges.

Since upgraded to to iOS 6, I always having intermittent wifi problem. It's connected to the wifi network, but it loads very slowly, and sometimes it won't load at all, this problem particularly happen when I connecting my iPhone to Huawei Mobile wifi, and the workaround is to hard reset my iPhone in order to make it work again. Unfortunately, iOS 6.0.1 didn't solve this problem, I still need to hard reset my iPhone to solve the wifi problem.

I just returned from a friend's  FIOS system using WPA2. I am using an I phone 5 with 6.01 firmware.  It would see the network and after a reboot, indicate  that it was connected with a "check" mark next to the system.  However, using the  "Speedtest" app, it would not give me a "begin test " status.  Then the settings would not show a connect to the FIOS network.  It connects to my home FIOS network without a problem.  As a side line, my Apple 3GS I Phone was updated to 6.01 yesterday twice.  In 6.00 firwmare, it would access my FIOS network and give me a 15/5 that the network provides.  With 6.01 firmware, the 3GS I Phone now will only give me 5/3 downlink and uplink.  This seems to be a firmware issue!  Like he others, Apple needs to fix this issue or risk losing confidence in its user base.

    Enough is enough!

I have the same issue with my iPhone 4s. It was not an issue when I was using iOS5, but it started once I upgraded to iOS6 and the recent update of iOS6.0.1 did not fix it. Judging from the release notes, Apple thinks this is only an iPhone 5 issue, as they say they fixed it for iPhone 5's.

I've also noticed extreme battery drain since updating to 6.0.1. I almost never get below 50%, but every day since upgrading, I have gotten down to 10%... Ad not used the phone any more than usual (if anything, I've used it less). Sitting here on the couch tonight, it's draining by 5-10% an hour, even if I don't touch the phone other than to check the battery level every hour!

I have an iPad 2 (iOS6.0.1) and a 3rd generation iPod touch (latest iOS5 release), as well as an Apple TV 2. None of the other devices have this problem and they are all on the same network.

Something interesting... my iPhone 4s works fine on the wifi where I work. At home, it continually turns on and off. My home network is using a Netgear router (WNDR3400) and the iPhone is connecting to it using WPA2+PSK protocol. Hopefully, this information can help Apple figure out the problem. I've reset my router multiple times and also made sure I have the latest firmware.

(I remember my iPod Touch having a similar issue a few years ago with iOS 4, when I had a different Netgear router using the same security protocol. I think iOS 5 fixed it for the iPod Touch... I wonder if some Apple products have an issue with Netgear Routers using that encryption.)

Iphone 3GS. updated to iOS 6.0.1 Friday. Data usage until then about 300MB

Sunday Morning around 4am. Phone incredibly hot even though connected to charger and home Wifi network. Usage exceeds 3GB for month and extra 3.5GB. Total usage in 12 hours 6.5GB.

Sunday afternoon after receiving message from AT&T about excess data, turned off Cellular Data and 3G and limited to only Wifi.

Monday evening 2GB cellular data. Total data usage in 2 days 9GB????? W/T/F ???

Even when 3G and cellular data is turned OFF, 2GB used up?

Now, turned OFF Cellular data and Wifi and using it as a regular phone with texting and calling. Maybe will buy a regular phone and be done with all these useless charges. Someone should be held accountable here.
