What's the camera?
How are you getting the project out of FCP? Are you using the export function? Share to YouTube? What exactly are you doing?
When I copied the project the desktop
What does this mean?
I got a new camera that uses a memory card... I had been using DV... and when I tried to upload the video... a finsished fcp profect to Youtube, I got the following message: ! the file you loaded is not a properly formatted video file. When I copied the project the desktop... in preperation to load it to Youtube... it had a file extension I've never seen before... XML. Do I need to convert the file??? Will I need software to do this? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
FCP X does have an option to export XML; did you use it by accident? (XML can be used to export to other programs for further processing; but you - as most people, I imagine - don't need that, otherwise you would know about it).
What do you mean by "copied the project the desktop"?!
You can export to a quicktime file (save it in the desktop or wherever you like on your drive). Make sure this plays in QT Player. Then use the youtube site to upload.
Or, you can export to youtube directly from inside FCP X.
what happens when I try to Share it to YT is... it begins to load... it assigns it an address and then I get the following message: ! The file you uploaded is not properly formatted video file.
What exactly is it?
What I put on desktop is a 3:45 music video.
The exported file?
It says fcpxml under the desktop icon
How are you exporting?
to export it to desktop... I copied the entire timelime and drag and dropped it onto the desktop
