Actually there is no built in Remote Desktop connect in OS X like there is in Windows. You can get, Buy, a system from Apple to be able to connect from one Mac to another and there is Screen Sharing but I have no idea how that works.

There is RDC included with MS Office 2011 for Mac and you can actually download that from the MS website but it is only for connecting from a Mac to a Windows PC.

Also you are not running iOS 6 on your Mac. That is for "i" devices like iPhones and Pads. You are running OS X Lion or MT Lion. So you may want to change that in your Profile.

Sure. First you need to have a Win PC running the Pro or above version of XP, Vista, 7 or 8 and enable the Remote Desktop system in the System Properties (That is under System in control panel and if on 7 or 8 you have to go to Advanced System Setting, then to the Remote Tab).

Once the Win PC is setup like that you then need either the IP address or the Computer Name of the PC you want to connect to, that is if both computer are on the same LAN. Type that into the connection window and click Connect.

If you are trying to do this across the Internet then you need the Public IP address of the place you are connecting to and then have the router at that place Forward the RDC port to the IP of Specific PC you want to connect to.

    Thanks Shootist,

I have Office for Mac 2011 installed and that's what I was referring to with the RDC question.

Any I dea how that works?

(I'll be sure to make the change to my OS in my profile).

RDC works fine if you take the time to set it up. I use it from Work to get to my home LAN.

But that LogMeIn stuff does all the connect settings for you. I personally would never use it but that's just me. Many Many people do use it.

Problem with it is all your Data goes through some server you have no control over. Not what I want.

    Good Luck.
