This morning when I turned on my iPad 2, I got the message unable to join network. All my other Apple products (iPhone 4s, iPod touch 4g, ipod touch 2g, husband's iPad 2, iMac) are acessing my wifi network with no problems. I reset both the modem and router, restarted my iPad, reset all settings, and reset network settings on my iPad and I still get unable to join network. I don't know what else to do short of wiping my iPad which I really don't want to do. I have the latest version of iOS 6. My iPad was connecting fine to my network before this.

Thanks!

The only other thing that I can think of - but should have taken place when you reset all settings - is to forget the network and try again. Settings>WiFi>Your network name - tap the blue arrow and tap "Forget this Network" in the next screen. Reboot your iPad and then go back to the settings, find your network and try to join again.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Try and enter Name and Password manually

Settings>WiFi>Others...>enter Name and Password manually>Tap Join

Note: Make sure you have your Name (SSID) and password handy.

Do you have a maximum number of simultaneous connections set in your router?

I tried rebooting and tried entering name and password manually and I still get unable to join the network but everything else is connecting to the network with no issues. This is very frustrating. I didn't install anything new yesterday. I really dread having to wipe my iPad and starting from scratch although I did back up my iPad just in case.

Also, I don't think I have a max number of simultaneous connections that I set in my router as everything was working yesterday.

I actually contacted Apple tech support since everything I was doing wasn't working. The tech had me wipe my iPad and restore to factory settings. When the iPad was ready to be configured, the tech had me try to get on my wifi network and it still said unable to join network. The tech determined that I had a hardware issue since there were no apps to interfere and since my iPad is still under warranty, I get a new replacement iPad 2.
