Did you get this resolved? I'm having the same issue. I KNOW my login info is correct but my iPad keeps telling me 'The user name or password for 'email@example.com" was incorrect. Try again".
What's crazy is it is NOT incorrect. I even assured it was correct by using it on my iMessage on my iMac & MacBook. It is the correct login and password. I'm so frustrated.

Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

I've tried that. Didn't work. I guess the next step will be to reset back to factory default and start over.

My ipad imessage and facetime works!!!!!!
When to itunes
Change the state to FL ( my address is from PR). Try another state
Activate imessage (with Region US)
Went to itunes again and changed the state back to PR....

In most of the comments said to change the region because Imessage an Facetime doesn't work in all region ... so I made a test with that and it worked.....
