I have an i3 iMac with 8 gig of ram in a computer lab.  According to the instructor nothing has change on this imac.  The rest of the iMacs are working fine.  At the user screen I have 3 users.  None of the users can login in.  I have reset PRAM, booted from external drive, verified/repaired permissions and still can't login with any user account.

What now??

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5), Core i3 8gig ram

Try resetting the SMC 2-3 times.

    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals
    3. Wait fifteen seconds.
    4. Attach the computer's power cord.
    5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

If that doesn't help the try rebooting in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt.
