I am having the exact same problem.  So ir has to be with the nike+ application and not the computers. I have an email into Nike and I will post what I find out.

I got a brand new mac book pro and everything worked fine until I had to update the nike+ software. Then it was downhill from there. Just waiting to hear back from Nike about the problem but glad to read im not alone with it.

Here was the reply to my post with Nike direct. It did resolve my problem:

The first question I have is: Are you using Mountain Lion OSX 10.8?

Mountain Lion includes a new feature called Gatekeeper, which is intended to increase security by preventing the installation of malicious software. Our preliminary testing of Mountain Lion has uncovered that Gatekeeper's default settings could prevent the installation of Connect.

Control-clicking the installer package, then selecting "Open" will override Gatekeeper. Once successfully installed, there is no further workaround needed.

Another option is for you to change your Security & Privacy settings to allow applications downloaded from "Anywhere." This setting can be changed after Connect is successfully installed.

If you are using another operating system or this does not resolve your issue, please respond via this email and we will work together to find a solution.

I use Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.  So you are saying control click on the installer package... which installer package?  The one for Nike Connect?

I used the change in the security settings.

I did that before, allowing apps from anywhere to be installed and it did not work.

My security settings are already set to allow app from anywhere.  I download the Nike+ Connect installer, control clicked it, selected open.  Downloaded the application, computer said the application is installed on my computer. But when I go to look for it, it is no where to be found on my hardrive.  I am operating on Mountain Lion 10.8.2
