Could you share which apps need the update? Would it be any from the iLife suite?
No iLife apps. All are third party apps.

I'm having this exact same problem. Trying to update Live Wallpaper and it's claiming the msg in the original persons screenshot. I wasn't aware I had a second account or that I'd bought it under some other name than my own.
Oh and it does the same for the fabled iPhoto update sitting in the purchased section.
Still working on this with Apple. Engineers should be looking at it, so hopefully will have some kind of solution in the near future.
BTW, deleting the App Store cache files doesn't help (here, anyhow), in case anyone's interested.....

Uninstall (trash) the application and reinstall.
