An iMac can have both the HD that's included and you can add an external SSD. Is that correct? If so, does that go for all Mac's?
Are you able to install an extra drive (SSD) internally if the above is correct on the large desktops?
From my understanding and trying to follow this thread, a fusion drive is needed and this would require both drives to simultaneously work together and couldn't work alone?

A Fusion Drive involves an SSD and an HDD. When combined they cannot be used individually. The OS sees just a single device.
