I am experiencing some volume control issues with my brand new Ipod Nano 7G. After a little while the volume gets lower all by itself. I did the 5 R's as suggested. But no improvements. The files are all the same format (m4a 128kbs) after being recompressed to save space. No EQ used here. But i used the volume leveller feature. Firmware is the latest 1.0.1.

Is this a known issue? Is there a firmware update in the work to solve this?

iPod nano (7th generation), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), iPod Nano firmware 1.0.1

My response to your other post.

Not that I am aware of. I haven't heard of seen other users mentioning anything similar since the 7G was released. Since the Nano is still under the 1 year warranty, try having it replaced for another one to see if the issue persists.  It shouldn't cost you anything.

Since i've swithed it off, it works fine.

I assume you mean the EQ setting you had enabled?

The audio crossfade is meant to dim the volume of the song at the end and slowly turn the volume back up on the beginning of the next song. This is all done automatically
