Go to Crucial and download the little app that examines your system and recommends RAM upgrade options.
Their prices are good but don't have to buy memory from them - determine what you need and buy it from Crucial or OWC / MacSales.MacBooks iMacs iPods AirPorts, OS X Mountain Lion, 27 years Apple!

John is correct, I'd also recommend visiting OWC's tech support site for video instructions on how to install the RAM or you can refer to your iMac's owners manual for instructions too. If you cannot find your manual please click the Support link in the upper right of this page, click Manuals and then enter your computer's serial number and the manual will appear.
