You need to buy it again. Mac OS X and iOS versions of an application need to be written and maintained separately, and the developer can charge for both if they so desire.

It doesn't matter whether or not they are. As the developer needs to create and maintain them separately, they are considered separate products.
Redownloads from the Mac App Store and iTunes App Store are free, but not redownloads of paid software between the stores.
