How To Exclude Caches From Backup?

I was watching a movie on HBO GO, and noticed that when an automatic backup started, it did not stop, essentially growing as the movie continued to download.

Obviously this is unacceptable. Not only does it tie up system resources as I am streaming an HD movie, but it causes my Time Capsule to do unecessary work.

I tried to find the Safri cache in the Library folders, but could not find any file on my Mac that seemed to be affected.

I've since noticed that Time Capsule behaves this way no matter what I stream, whether it's a YouTube video, or a live feed. If the data is getting cached on my hard drive, Time Capsule is backing it up. Makes no sense for it to be operating this way.

In any event, how can I exclude these kinds of cache files from being backed up? Obviously I select the file to be excluded in Time Machine's settings, but I can't locate the file on my Mac HD. Is it invisible?
