I recently had to change my iCloud password, which brought on a whole host of problems.  But, the most recent one is that I woke up this morning to find data missing from a number of my iCloud contacts.  Their names are still listed, along with birthdays, but everything else is missing (phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, notes, etc.)  I would say at least 40% of my list has been affected.  I have a backup, so can probably find most of the data to restore, but I can't imagine how this could have happened.  And don't know what to do to protect myself from it happening again.  Can anyone offer any insight or suggestions?

It should be really simple to be able to change your iCloud password on a regular basis and not have to spend days troubleshooting problems that have occurred as a result.
