My MacBook Pro battery appears dead. When pressing the battery button at the side of the computer, only 1 flashing light appears. Pressing the power button doesn't do anything. I want my computer back so I can use it. Any way to fix this problem?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

What model MBP, year do you have?  Some had replaceable batteries, others require a tech to replace the battery.

Do you get any response when plugged in to an outlet?  Does the MagSafe connector light up?  If so, what light colors are displayed?

Best way to see exactly what is in need of repair and cost is to visit an Apple store genius bar and let the techs take a look at the MBP.

Can you share how you fixed it, my battery has been dead for a while and it does come up even with the power connected. What all do I need to do?
