Is anybody aware of the trash restriction in version 9.3.2 where there appears to be a limit of approx 1300 files. I had 15,000 files to delete created by a time lapse camera and found that every time I attempted to empty the trash that the system froze requiring a forced quit to Iphoto to progress?

The anoying fact was it took 2 days to realise what was happening, thereafter fairly quick to rectify but not obviously documented.

Is there any way to truly empty the trash is is this an application bug/limitation?

The problem you mention applies to iPhoto on your Mac, not iPhoto on IOS devices. I'll ask the community hosts to move your post to the iPhoto iLife forum.

I do not know any official statement of a limitation of the number of Trash items, burt maybe others do.

There is no official limit. Some folks have reported success after turning off Item Counts in the iPhoto Preferences. Expienced users advise caution trashing more that 100 at a time.

This the following which worked for another user:  go into iPhoto's General preference pane and disable Show Item Counts.  Close and relaunch iPhoto and try again.
