how did you buy GarageBand? Did it come preinstalled on your Mac, did you buy an iLife DVD, or did GarageBand come with the system installation DVDs? What is your Mac OS X version?
Regards
Léonie

Jun 20, 2016 9:02 PM in response to léonieby SnKWNn,Hello. ^^
I too have the same problem. The internal hard drive in my macbook crashed a few months ago. I lost everything on the computer, and had to bring it to an Apple store to have everything re-installed. And the end, my macbook upgraded systems and got a more recent one, OS X Yosemite. And since this happened, I no longer have Garage Band, nor Word, nor Paint Shop, etc... And lacking ALL 3 of these programs has become a major nuisance for me! :-(
Garage Band came already installed when I bought the macbook. (And the other two, Word & Paint Shop, were purchased at the same time as the macbook but separately.) Is there any way I can possibly get at least Garage Band back? I still have dozens of files of my unfinished projects in GB. But I can't afford to pay for GB now! :-O
Thanks for your help. :-)

Jun 20, 2016 10:08 PM in response to SnKWNnby léonie,Try to download GarageBAnd again from the fourth tab of the AppStore, Purchases. If GarageBand is in your Purchases history, you can download it from there. It will not work, if your GarageBand version did not come preinstalled on the mAcwith OS X Lion or a newer system. If the old Mac came with installer CDs use them to reinstall GarageBand.

Jun 22, 2016 7:06 AM in response to léonieby SnKWNn,When I look in the 'Purchased' tab in the Mac app store, there isn't anything there concerning Garage Band. In fact, there are only three apps total in 'purchased'. And all three of these apps were installed after my macbook crashed. There's no trace of any app at all, prior to the date of my macbook's reparation. Whereas, I bought my macbook four years ago so it had seen many apps come and go.
I think this might be related to the fact that I created myself a second Apple ID.
>>>>>>I did so because before, I used to struggle a lot with my Apple ID's... For various reasons, the most annoying was that I never completed the registration since I didn't possess a credit card. Therefore, I couldn't provide any 'payment method' (not sure if I'm using the correct terms here). So I gave up on all that for awhile. And eventually, I wound up totally forgetting both my Apple ID and my password! <<<<<
Anyway.
So my question is this: Do I still have a chance of getting my missing Garage Band app back? Or am I doomed to live without? :-(

Jun 22, 2016 7:13 AM in response to SnKWNnby léonie,To recover GarageBand you have to use the AppleID you used when you first set up your Mac, that is, if GarageBAnd came preinstalled on a Mac without installer CDs/DVDs. If you Mac is older and came with installer CDs, use those.
If you cannot remember your AppleID check this web page:
