Q: I don't want my pictures to start loading automatically from my SD card.  How to I stop the auto load to my computer?

When I put my SD card into my imac it automatically starts loading into an autoload program.  I don't want this to happen.  I want to be able to just open my card and drag my files where I want them to be.

I cannot figure out how to turn this feature off.  Please help me with this.

Thanks

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

With your SD card inserted, go to your Applications Folder and open Image Capture. At the bottom left of the Image Capture window,  Connecting this camera opens: No Application

Go Back to iPhoto Preferences/General/Conecting camera opens: No Application

Just to cover all possibilities, open iPhoto > Preferences and make sure you have the same "no application" marked there:

And, make sure your Finder Preferences are set to show external disks on the desktop - that way, your card's icon on the desktop and you can do with the pictures as you wish.
