While Apple has killed MobileMe the preexisting @me email addresses remain valid. I'm still using my @mac email addresses which predated @me.

Will this last forever? Who knows but I can't see any reason for Apple to kill @mac or @me. Doesn't cost them anything (they likely want to keep the domain names to stop anybody else from using them.

You cannot reset the answers to your security questions without knowing the current answers to the security questions (otherwise, you could hack into someone's account).

Your Apple ID cannot be a @me.com address, so you should be able to reset your password via email verification. If this does not work, then I recommend using Apple's ExpressLane to get help: https://expresslane.apple.com/GetCountriesDetails.do

If you can't remember your security questions go to  Express Lane.   Select iTunes from the list, then iTunes store.   On the next screen select account Management.   There, select iTunes store account security and write that you would like to reset your security questions and / or answers.

You should get an eMail reply over the next 24 hours.

Please always post your operating system when you have a query.

If you have Lion or Mountain Lion sign in with the address in System Preferences>iCloud and check Mail in the checklist there.

If you have an earlier system, follow the instructions here (you will need to have migrated the account to iCloud before August 1):

Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard

Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger

If you did not migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud you can only set up the account on a Mac with Lion 10.7.2 or above, or an iOS5 or 6 device. That done, you can follow the instructions linked to above.
