I have a tablet PC with no DVD and I would like to share the DVD on my iMac with the tablet PC. I have configured everything to "see" my PC from my iMac and my iMac to my PC, and I can see the shared folders, but there is no way of seeing the DVD in my iMac from the PC. I have turned on "DVD sharing" in my System Preferences. Does anybody has any clue about what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks for your help

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    This may be applicable:

DVD or CD sharing: Using Remote Disc

The tablet PC must have the correct software installed and correct firewall settings - read the above.

I have read somewhere that Mac DVDs are not intended to be shared with Windows machines, but I have got no "official" (that is, Apple endorsed) confirmation of this...

I don't think you will get any either. A Mac can "share" its optical drive with compatible devices. It's up to Windows to determine if it can recognize them though.
