I purchased Plants Vs Zombies and it was working on my Itouch. I had to do a restore and am now running IPOD sw version 4.2.1 (the highest version avaliable for my itouch). ITunes will not let me reinstall PvZ. I It says that I need a newer version of the IPod sw. How can I get PvZ working again?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

Connect the iPod to the PC and iTunes will ask you to update to the latest version. If it says that you use the most recent version, you have a 2nd generation iPod and you can't reinstall that application

If you do not have a backup, you will be forced to download the lastest one, which, if requires iOS5 or higher, will not work for you anymore.

The deiolper decides when to leave people behind.

If you keep the application on your PC, you can sync your device in iTunes, but if you haven't got this, you can't reinstall the app

Did you try to restore your iPod from an earlier iTunes backup? It should have retained the earlier version of PvZ.

Control - click your iPod Touch under "Devices" and select "Restore from Backup..."

Choose a backup that existed before the iOS upgrade.
