Hello dears,

since v4.3 (I think), Xcode comes in an "all in one app", without installer package.

While starting  Xcode.app  for the first time, a window appears commenting to install additional resources.

Does anyone know the install path of these resources ?

Thank you much!

    Inside Xcode the app itself.

What is it you're looking for, exacty? Many items are available via Xcode menus...

    Thanks KT,

I dont mean the resources from the Xcode menu.

I mean the installs that are necessary and performing at the (only) first start of Xcode.

Reason, I like to check, where they are, and how much, in case of using a SSD and maybe trying a simlink.

Ok, I could test it, overwriting Xcode with a new file from the image.

If the install procedure comes up again, I seems to be located in the app itself.

Again, those are inside the app itself. Again, again, what items are you looking to manage? Docs? Tools?

You can use the Finder to 'show package contents' on an app, and drill down from there, but I don't recommend getting creative in there...

Symlinks won't work the next time you update.

I dont know, what items these are, as Xcode only states to install needed resources.

Do you remember, after copying Xcode from the image (or downloading from the store).

When Xcode runs for the first time, it is installing anything (only this time).

I compared the amount of bytes of Xcode from the HDD with Xcode from the Xcode-image.

    They are identical.

So the stuff is not installed inside of the app.

I am interested in the amount of space. (or the path of these installs)

    Thanks

Get a bigger HD or delete from somewhere else.

Trying to dev and cut corners like this doesn't seem compatible

I found out, in the path Xcode.app/Contents/Resources/Packages/...

There one can find 2 installer packages for mobile device support.. Using Pacifist, one can find the install path. But the amount of disk space of these installations is not worth to talk about. Nearly nothing.
