Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Apple hasn't released Boot Camp drivers for Windows 8. You can install Windows 8, but it couldn't work correctly on your computer

On Mac Pro Mountain Lion, I'm getting more into and out of my 39.95$ ($46.00 Canadian with taxes) download of Windows 8 64 Bit Pro OS on the "Surface side". The Sample Kahn Academy and FreeFlow Apps are better than similar available from Apple IOS 6 on my iPad 3 (which I paid ~$100 in taxes alone for!!). They work with mouse & keyboard and are easily seen on a 27" monitor.
I updated drivers with saved versions of Bootcamp and have no problems.
The W8Surface Apps that I'm using so far (aside from Netflix) are free and there are a whole lot more free and paid for available.
Mind you, my Mac Pro is not in any way a portable device, but I'd say Windows 8 for $46 until Jan. or Feb? is a great investment. In fact I'd like to be able to install it to the iPad. Windows 8 can be installed to devices that I do not have.
Though I don't know for how long, Microsoft Office 365 Suite with "SkyDrive" tie in is free.
If you want to play DVDs you will want to get the now free Media Center download before it needs paying for because Windows Media Player does not do DVD in Windows 8.
