Thank you for reply. I guess there's no point in bothering to create a VIDEO_TS folder without syncing the audio with it. I did read Bengt's post (and a few others as well), and have checked all that I could to ensure the best video quality. Given all of this, I'm not sure I'll be able to get it any better. It's a shame, because when iDVD actually managed to successfully burn the DVDs, I never had video quality problems. It's only now that I have to make a Disk Image and burn it with Disk Utility that it has become an issue. I just don't know what to do about it. Thanks for all your suggestions!

Did you use Share ➙ iDVD in iMovie? If you did that may be part of the problem. That method only provides half of the information that is available in iMovie to iDVD, i.e. throws away every other line.
Use the Share ➙ Media Browser menu option and add the movie to iDVD via the Media/Movies pane in iDVD.
If you did use Share ➙ iDVD and try the Share ➙ Media Browser you should start over with a new project due to issues with iDVD trying to replace encoded assets with new assets in an existing project.

Hi Old Toad - Hate to correct - such a BesserWisser mentallity (and even more so when self is out on lose ground)
• Share to iDVD or Share to Media Browser - DO not (as I see it) affects the picture quality at all - may be even Share to Media Browser will be worse if HD-quality is selected - Due to BAD DownScaling to Medium Q
• The Loss of every second line in the picture - I learned - occurs when going from Event's to Project's and that's why there is no method to get it well again.
(But Raw material in Event's - I'm told - is still 100% interlaced SD-Video quality if imported as this e.g. from miniDV tape)
Yours well wishing - (and bad spelling) - Bengt W

Thank you. Not a smart aleck mentality at all. I learn something new every day here. I'm not much of an iMovie user so need to rely on the experience of others. I've only used iMovie 6 HD for my iDVD projects when I use movies in them. There's no substitute for iMovie 6 HD.
Have a good day and weekend.
