Everything I read about Tonewheel Organ suggests that it's a built in effect on versions of GB going back to 04.

I have two macs, one w/ GB 09 and one w/ GB 11. For the life of me, I cannot find it.  Hopefully, it's right under my nose...

Is this something for MIDI only, or is it an effect I can use on a real instrument track?  PLEASE tell me it's the latter!

Thanks in advance for any help the community has to offer.

Tonewheel organ is the sound generator for organ software instruments.

You see it in GB '11, when you select an organ software instrument track and open the "Edit" tab in the Info panel.

Then open the pop-up menu of the Sound Generator at the top of the panel.

So indeed, you can only use it on a software instrument track - for midi input, or for softwareinstrument loops, notes you enter using Musical Typing or directly from the track editor.

    Regards

I use mostly midi, so I don't know, sorry. Have you searched the FAQ? You should be able to find organ effectsfor real instruments there:
