If Home Sharing is enabled with the same credential on both, navigate to Computers on AppleTV, choos your iTunes library, then teh Rentals row.
Note - the rental must fully download to iTunes first (even if itunes itself says it's ready to watch on teh computer).

Thanks, Alleycat. What you told me to do worked. By the way, in I-Tunes, even though in the File menu it stated that my Home Sharing was on it was not working. So I decided to turn it off and then turn it back on. When I did, I had to put in my Apple password and submit. When I did that the message came on said that my Home Sharing was now on. I went to my TV and followed your instructions and successfully found my rented movie. Thanks so much. Hershell

Does this work with gen 1 ATV's? I get evrything showing up in the shared library except rentals
