I am experiencing some volume control issues with my brand new Ipod Nano 7G. After a little while the volume gets lower all by itself. I did the 5 R's as suggested. But no improvements. The files are all the same format (m4a 128kbs) after being recompressed to save space. No EQ used here. But i used the volume leveller feature. Firmware is the latest 1.0.1.

Is this a known issue? Is there a firmware update in the work to solve this?

iPod nano (7th generation), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), iPod Nano firmware 1.0.1

My response to your other post.

Not that I am aware of. I haven't heard of seen other users mentioning anything similar since the 7G was released. Since the Nano is still under the 1 year warranty, try having it replaced for another one to see if the issue persists.  It shouldn't cost you anything.

It appears to be link with the song blending feature. Since i've swithed it off, it works fine. It seems that when blending 2 songs, sometimes it doesn't get the second song to its original level. So it stay to a lower volume level from then on.

I assume you mean the EQ setting you had enabled?

No. I'm talking about the audio crossfade feature of the iPod Nano. I've been using the Nano with feature turned off and I haven't had any problem since. So there seems to be a problem with the audio crosfade feature on the 7G.

The audio crossfade is meant to dim the volume of the song at the end and slowly turn the volume back up on the beginning of the next song. This is all done automatically
