Q: 2nd generation shuffle won't turn on

My second generation shuffle won't turn on. Light won't show, Mac won't recognize when connected to USB port. Is it simply dead?

Tried charging via USB port and by a power plug; nothing. Orange light appeared briefly, but went away.

iPod shuffle, iOS 6.0.1

How long have you left it to charge? It could take up to 30 minutes for the iPod to show any signs of life, and sometimes a hard reset of the iPod is still required to get it to boot up. Here are instructions for rebooting the iPod Shuffle.

Thanks. But no sign of life. Even tried charging/syncing on PC (main computer is iMac). Mystery is the orange light appeared briefly. Might have to put it out of its misery (or sell on ebay as an early relic).

Probably not a bad idea at this point as it is getting quite old and the battery wasn't meant to last forever.
