I have been having an issue with iTunes for the past year where new episodes of purchased TV shows start automatically downloading when I open iTunes. This is a problem due to limited space on our MacBook Pros.

The issue seems to occur whenever my wife or I attach an iOS device to the system, but it may also occur simply when we start the iTunes app (haven't been able to precisely replicate as the automatic download behavior doesn't happen at the same time in each instance).  See screenshot of download screen (after I "paused all"):

I checked to be sure that the the Store preferences were set to not automatically check or download:

With respect to the devices (iPhones, iPad), we manage media "manually", only syncing things such as photos and contacts.

Does anyone else have this issue? Can anyone provide some advice to prevent these items from automatically downloading on our laptops?

I'm not the video download expert but until somebody else replies I will comment that I see people ask about stopping video from downloading automatically all the time here with no responses as to how to do it and I suspect with videos it is just how they behave.
