I hate the integration too. I never clicked on "update all contacts" in settings/facebook. Nor did I turn on calendar, contacts or Facebook in the same area. I havent got facebook in my notification center. In settings/privacy/facebook I have left facebook off and in settings/general/restrictions I have turned off facebook access etc. That way facebook does not annoy me but I have the facebook app and I can log on to it if I feel that way inclined

I think you go to Calendars & uncheck the Facebook Birthdays selection. Hope that helps.

To only disable the birthday notifications without removing the contact info integration: Go to Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars then Calendars section: Default Alert Times/Birthdays. Switch it to None.

@ Adams, the best solution I found was from Cnet, thus I trusted it. It removed the contacts and birthdays from my list...at least where I see them. The link is "http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57549165-285/how-to-remove-facebook-friends- from-your-iphones-contact-list/ . Good luck.

Go to Settings/Facebook and turn off each of the "Allow these Apps to Use Your Account".

@adams akira - have you found a solution to exclude the Facebook birthdays in your notification center? I already have Facebook birthdays disabled in my calendar settings, so that's good. Facebook contacts integration is buggy. They need more options. Ideally I'd like to only use Facebook to "fill in" information that I don't have on contacts I already have in my phone... ie. photo, email.... But now I have the notification bug and ALL my Facebook friends in my phones contacts :( HALP!

What I had to do is create a whole nother calender labeled "Birthday" (for example). From there all the Facebook problems have disapeared. Hope that helped!

The best way to do it is go to: Settings, Facebook, and then down to the "Allow These Apps to use your account" and turn the Contacts switch to OFF and then hit "Update All Contacts". It will remove the birthdays and Facebook contacts.
