Q: iPhone 5 can't send SMS - gets an error when sending SMS

People - I'm using a Sprint iPhone 5 with my local GSM chip. Everything works fine, except sending SMS.

All basic troubleshooting has been done: checked SMS settings, erased Network Settings, checked SMS Service # through *#5005*7672# and it is fine, restored the phone and re-checked everything above again... and nothing. :-(

Please help?

Last post from me (this thread's creator ) glad it helped many on this issue. Michael, Romandor and all the community here, thanks for keeping the thread alive to the point that made a huge difference to us all. To the people with points (specially @fromsouth) that tried to demotivate us from this  issue, thanks for showing real issues are treated accordingly by Apple, not affected for wanted-to-be dictators on this forum.

    Peace,

    Hello!

I've got full-price unlocked iPhone 5 from Sprint, but now I'm using nanoSIM provided by Russian carrier MTS RUS and I'm not able to send SMS. I get an error all the time. I can make and receive calls, browse the Internet, send and receive MMS, even can receive SMS, but can't send SMS. I tried to activate iPhone with Sprint nanoSIM which was included with the iPhone, but also got an error. Please, help me!

    About my iPhone:

    iPhone 5 16GB white

    Model MD657LL

    IMEI

    MEID

    Serial F1******8GJ

As I said in my message further up the thread the problem is to do with the message center setting, you can either wait for apple to sort it via customer services, download the beta of 6.1 which sorts it, or do it yourself via the method I suggested. Hope this helps.

Ну че тупишь? У тебя стоит 6.0.1 версия иоса, найди в сети версию 6.1 beta 2 и установи - это решит проблему!

First restore your phone to 6.0.1,  then activate it, after connect to iTunes, after you'll find update and restore, just click alt+ update if you use Mac, and shift + update if you use windows, then select the iOS beta 6.1 and update, don't click restore button.

Try then inform me, tested 100%, thanks
