I have used the recovery hard drive to repair the home hard drive and after it has finished I see something like "updating boot support partitions".  Does that indicate as it is the present tense, that the operation is still continuing?  Even though the line above says that the hard drive is repaired.

    That is normal.

IIRC, just a normal part of repairing the volume, not the disk. I have eleven volumes on my int HD and get that with every repair action.

When is the operation over then?  I have only one volume and after an half hour it is still updating.

Will there be an indication when the partitions are updated?

When you get the report. Quit DU and go forward. This is what I just got with one named TestVolume:

    Verify and Repair volume “TestVolume”

    Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.

    Checking extents overflow file.

    Checking catalog file.

    Checking multi-linked files.

    Checking catalog hierarchy.

    Checking extended attributes file.

    Checking volume bitmap.

    Checking volume information.

The volume TestVolume appears to be OK.

    Volume repair complete.

Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.

I guess my confusion is with word "updating" which suggests that some process is still going on.  If it is done, it would be much better to say, "updated" boot support etc....
