I bought a non-jailbroken ATT-locked iPhone 4 from a friend who called ATT and got approval for unlocking. She received the email with instructions and everything. She also gave me the now inactive ATT SIM card that came with the phone.

When I restore the phone from iTunes with the ATT card inside it doesn't get unlocked, just activates and gets straight to the Restore from Backup screen. When I restore with a different carrier's SIM I get the "SIM unsupported message".

I have the email from ATT confirmitng the unlock and I waited 8 days now - much longer than the ATT-recommended 24 hous in the email. ATT's email just says that I need to have a SIMcard in the phone when I restore. I can't see where the problem is...

I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1
