You will need iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3.2.xx however, to download photos from the Photo Stream, that you share from your iPhone, see:

It's ridiculous that apple is making us pay to upgrade to iphoto11 after I just paid for the latest OS!
The upgrade of the OS no longer includes the update of the bundled software to the major new releases - so you can decide, if you want to pay for the system only, or for additional apps.
Send feedback to Apple, if you do not like this. There is a "Send Feedback" menu item in iPhoto.
