Q: If I download iphoto11 will I be able to access the photos that were taken on my phone

It's ridiculous that apple is making us pay to upgrade to iphoto11 after I just paid for the latest OS!

    Do you have an older iPhoto version? Then you still can download from your iPhone by connecting it to your Mac, also you can use Image Capture to import images.

     

    You will need iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3.2.xx however,  to download photos from the Photo Stream, that you share from your iPhone, see:

    It's ridiculous that apple is making us pay to upgrade to iphoto11 after I just paid for the latest OS!

    The upgrade of the OS no longer includes the update of the bundled software to the major new releases - so you can decide, if you want to pay for the system only, or for additional apps. 

    Send feedback to Apple, if you do not like this. There is a "Send Feedback" menu item in iPhoto.
