I am unable to use my hotmail account when logging in from safari.  Cannot open any mail and the appearance is messed up

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Considering your OS and browser, along with the date of your post, this sounds like the same problem I had with Hotmail.  I recently posted the solution that worked for me.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm still optimistic for you since this problem is so limited among users - most Mac users don't have this issue.  Therefore if you use a different computer, odds are that you'd be able to use Hotmail normally and then open the "Options" menu and disable HTTPS.  Try using a public computer, such as a work computer or one at a library, and change your password after you get everything working again.

I worry about all this time passing for you.  Because with the broken access that you currently have, Hotmail may not be counting your logins.  And it's been years since I put it to the test, but Hotmail used to purge free-accounts of all their saved emails if they were not accessed for thirty days.

    Best of luck.
