Today when I launch Garageband on my iPad I get the message:

"Warning! Damaged project! (Ginst)". I press OK and Garageband then tries to load the last song I was working on and then crashes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

David

Hi, I'm having this issue too. Did it ever get sorted?

I'm having the same issue as well and there is no information on what to do. I have a great song (IMO) somewhere in limbo and I'm not sure if I can recreate it. This really *****! If you have any info please let me know. Thanks.

I managed to sort mine out but it was luck - I just kept opening it and letting it crash and opening it and letting it crash, and after what felt like several million times, it finally worked. Pot luck I'm afraid, nothing more technical than that.

Well, thanks. That's at least a start and I appreciate the input. I'm like a pitbull on a postman's leg when it comes to these things. So I'll keep crashing the thing if I have to. Thanks again.

It's so frustrating isn't it - it seems like whenever I'm nearing the end of a big project it seems to be crashing out.

Not to pile on without a solution, but I have the same problem.  And I can't even get into GarageBand now to do anything else, since it auto-loads the last project you worked on.  Massively frustrating.  I've tried opening the app about 50 times, without any luck.

In that case it should help to reset GarageBand. You can do that from the "Settings" app. Scroll down to GarageBand and switch the "Reset GarageBand" switch to "On".

This will reset it to factory settings and you can pick a different project, when you open GarageBand again. Sometimes this even helps to open a broken project, but I would not not rely on that, that the corrupted project can be opened after resetting GarageBand.

Yeah, I tried that. No dice. My other projects are opening but this one (the one I want to finish) stays closed. Thanks for the input though. I'm going to see if I can get someone fom tech involved. If I get a solution I be back and share the good word, if not I'm going to dropkick my iPad across the room and weep uncontrollably. Just kidding...I won't weep!
