hi everyone,

i am planning to order the Optimum Online internet service and hook up with the airport express (the newest verision), had anyone try that before? will they work together without any problem?

i have 2 computers at home, i am not using the internet at the midnight, so should i turn the airport express off during the night? will it affect the lifetime of my airport express?

thank you

To answer your first question - have OO install a basic cable modem - not a modem/router combination - it will work well with the Express.

There is now way of knowing the answer to your second question - in theory the less an electronic device is used the longer it will last - other people think that re-powering a device too foten puts a strain on the device - but in the case of the Express I would recommend that you leave it connected 24 hours/day so to doesn't have to find to keep finding the internet connection everytime you reboot - this is what most people do.

I have used both TWC and OO with no problems and both provided a modem at no charge - and the Express is not a modem so you cannot use by itself to access the internet.
