I have a Mac Mini that I bought in April brand new from the Apple Store. Its an Intel Core i5 with 8GB Ram.

Ever since I bought the Mac Mini I have been using it with a RocketFish mini display to VGA adapter and it has worked fine.

The reason why I am using the VGA adapter is because the Mac Mini is my secondary PC and I share the Monitor with another PC that is using the DVI port on the Monitor. The Monitor is a Samsung SA300. Actually I have 3 of the same monitors but I only have the Mac Mini attached to one of the 3.

Up until now when I wanted to use my Mac I would press the input button on the Monitor and swith to Analogue and everything worked beautifully.

I keep my Mac up to date and it was after I updated to Montain Lion and did the latest patch that is stopped working. I am running OS X 10.8.2.

I have tried plugging the Mac into the VGA port on the other 2 monitors and they do not work either. Of course the other computer using the DVI port works fine.

I plugged a HDMI to DVI cable into my MAC and it works fine with the Monitor. But I don't want to have to keep switching the Cable. I am out of desk space too so I don't want another monitor.

I have also tried both at the same time. HDMI -> DVI with one Monitor and the RocketFish Mini Display -> VGA with another monitor. But the Mac only detects the Monitor connected to the DVI port.

I find it unlikely that the adapter would just stop working I hadn't touched it until the problem started.

I am by no means a Mac expert so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
