I have app updates on my iphone 4s. When I click on the update it says installing for about 1 sec and then stops and says update again. If I try to install a new app it does the same. I have an iphone 5 and it is not doing this.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

try clearing multi tasking by being on the home screen and double tapping the phone button. hold down on one app in tell it shakes and then hit the minus sign on all apps

try turning airplane mode on and off

sign out and in to your itune account

I have the same problem with my iPhone4. No updates and no app purchases are working.

The same problem with a different AppleID, it seems to be a problem with the iPhone or the AppStore app.

I was having this problem as well.  Tried logging out of my App Store account and rebooting the phone, but still wouldn't update.

But finally I tried clicking the "Purchased" button at the top of the Update page, then scrolling through and clicking <update> on each app individually where it was an option.  Seems to have done the trick...
