How do I alphabetize addresses by last name in numbers without screwing up the order of everything else?

What do you mean by "everything else"?

Numbers uses a data base model for tables: Each row is considered a single "record", and each cell in that row contains a piece of data that is part of that record. To keep the records intact, Numbers sorts rows, using the deata in one or more columns to determined the sort. To sort the table on last names, click the reorganize button in the toolbar, then select the column containing the last names, then click sort now.

if the last name is NOT in s separate column then it would be best to add a column and parse out the last name.  If the last name is already in a separate column, then select the table to sort, then open the Reorganize tool, and sort by the column the last name is in.
