It endlessly says "accessing iTunes Store". I recently changed antivirus from CA to the free version of Avast. The free version doesn't have a firewall so the windows firewall is on. Could that be it?
I updated quick time, uninstalled quick time, and reinstalled quick time.
I have tried the netsh winsock reset, although I'm not sure I did it quite right.
No luck so far.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)
