I know there's alot of iOS bugs out there but this is a strange one.

I select 'Shuffle all songs' in the music app and playback works fine. However if I stop playback, return to the iPhone after a period of time and resume playback it starts about 8 - 10 songs back. i.e. replaying the last 8 - 10 songs I listened to last (and no I do not have duplicate songs on my iPhone)

Anyone experienced this upon moving to iOS 6?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6, iCloud

Mine is weird. It just shuffles through all the songs really fast but does not play anything at all! This just started 2-3 days ago. It's been working perfectly before that.

Restarting does not help at all. Shake to shuffle feature is off.

At last I have found someone with the same problem i am experiencing.

Occassionally after switching off my iPod Touch and even recharging it. When i start it the following day it launches into the music it played on a previous day.

I always have the songs set to random. I can understand that all songs will then be given an order to play in. What I cannot understand is how it will jump back a day or so and essentially replay previous days music?

Same problem here. ***** big time. iPhone even resumes more than 8-10 songs back. Have to select playlist again and hit shuffle to start with different songs.

Same problem here... I downloaded a children's album for my son...ever since then the music app will only play that album and other children's will shuffle the songs until it gets to them...I'm so confused....

Getting this too. Set shuffle when I go to work. Resume play on way home and it starts from where it did in the morning. Will see if not syncing during the day makes a difference.

Has anyone heard anything from Apple on this?

Dec 14, 2012 2:06 PM (in response to rooneyst) I found a way to avoid this from happening.  It's worked for me anyway.

If I pause the song I'm on before disconnecting from my adapter...the next time I hook it back up it picks up where it left off. (I really only listen to mine in my car with a headphone jack adapter)

Usually this was only a problem after I charged or sync'd (sunk?) my phone.  But when I've done it this way for the past two days it hasn't restarted from the previous song.  Worth a shot.

If some one could chime in with a link where we can report the issue to Apple that'd help too.
