I need to send free apps to some ipads (bbc news app etc)

if i do it it asks for an apple ID - if i put in the apple ID i downloaded the app with on the server (admin apple ID) it works, if i use another apple ID (personal) it crashes the app.

how can i deploy free apps that the end user can use without handing out my admin apple ID?

The way i've done it should work according to apples documentation (ASW and ASTO) (can't give links cos you need a login)

any ideas?

    Hi

There are a number of ways to do this.

One way is to download the free Apple Configurator App from the App Store.

    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/apple-configurator/id434433123?mt=12

This will allow you to install multiple free apps to multiple IOS devices easily and quickly. If you have a Trolley, Cart or Sync Box(s) handy it will make the job even quicker.

    HTH?

Depends how you use apple Configurator

Supervising locks the iOS device to a particular machine

Not supervising leaves the device open to sync with other machines

If you don't allow users to sync apps to their machines you can push apps out

    Doesn't effect personal apps

Do users really need to sync apps when they can download it from App Store

I suppose in some cases they may need to sync data depending on the app
