I just had my iPhone 4S unlocked by AT&T.  I was told if I upgraded the OS, the phone would revert to a locked phone?  Is this corrected?  My unlocked iPhone 4 does not have this problem.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

If it was Unlocked by AT&T, meaning you Restored the iPhone and got the iTunes Message on your computer screen, "Congratulations this iPhone is Unlocked" this is a true so-called Factory Unlock, and it will remain Unlocked always. You can update or restore this iPhone and it will stay unlocked.

Thank you.  That is what I thought.  AT&T originally refused to unlock the phone, saying it was still under contract.  When I asked to kick the issue up another level and pointed out that I had paid a penalty to upgrade from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5, the AT&T representative agreed and unlocked the phone.  One of her last statements was to tell me that if I ever upgraded the OS, I would have to have the phone unlocked again.  That seemed strange to me and contradicted everything I had read about factory (Apple) unlocks.  Again, thanks for your reply.
