I went to the Apple store today and switched out for a different phone. Same problem. I'm at home on my WiFi trying to download a 40mb app. It's taking 30+ minutes. I went to Starbucks today to try their WiFi. Same thing. I'm updated to iOS 6.0.1.
Extremely frustrating. The 4g is about 10x faster but I don't want to use up all my data in a week and have overages.

I just want to report I've solved my own problem.
I have Verizon Fios internet at home and decided to "RESTORE DEFAULTS" on the router. If you have a router and have WiFi problems with your iPhone, please consider trying this. You will need to access your router, likely from a web browser by going to the URL 192.168.1.1 (or similar). This address may be different for you (192.168.0.1, for example). Look at your network settings on your computer and see what your gateway is. The gateway address is what you want to point to. Then try to login via the web browser and reset the settings. If nothing else, call the ISP and ask for them to do this. Sometimes they can remotely reset your router or give you instructions on how to do it (for the less tech savvy).
I hope this helps someone else! It fixed my iPhone WiFi slow connectivity as soon as I did it. Good luck!
