Hello my friends,

It seems like I am having a big chanllenge right now. My air is the later 10 model, 1.86ghz+4gb version. I just received a 24' monitor, asus VS247, and using the mini-vga adapter. but 1/3 of chance, the external monitor is not working.

I have tried all the res in from 1920*1080 to 800*600, only low res could work, such as lower than 1440*900 which is the same one on my builtin monitor. Some times, the mirror works fine, sometime it does not.

I tried the same monitor on my dell laptop and desk top, both are fine.......

So...is there any thing i am doing wrong? I want to want to watch 1080P movie.

Please help.

Thanks

1080p resolutions generally are not supported over VGA.  For those you need to use DVI, Dual-Link DVI, or HDMI.  VGA resolutions are limited to standard definition 4:3 ratio resolutions on the Mac.  Double check if DVI or HDMI is supported by your screen.
