Hi, are you using any Safari Add-ons at all?
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

Phew!!! It's taken me 20 minutes just to find how to reply to your reply.
So I logged out and logged in as a guest account, went into Safari , loaded hotmail, logged into my email account and the same very long page opened up with some parts out of kilter. One difference is it let me open emails but I had to scroll down a while to see it. To reply though, it starts doing odd things from a tiny text box so I quit. Back again to firefox. Since I first used firefox last week, this Safari issue has nevetr gone away.
What are "add ons"? I haven't put anything on recently so I have no idea what your question is asking me?

As far as plugins, might look in...
Installed any new Fonts lately?

Thanks for your response. Nothing installed recently!
Now to your / linguo.
All I see is folders that I might send to the Trash. So what's this about the language you typed? Am I supposed to be inside a folder somehow?
By the way, I have done nothing apart from use Firefox and its automated LSO cookie removals. Since then, hotmail uk is void in Safari!

Sorry, that'd be the folder with your house icon on it.
But can you post a screen grab of what you're seeing?
Here's my Hotmail using Safari 4.0
Here it is using SeaMonkey...
And though I never use it, my account is blocked due to supposed SPAM, can't unblock it without a cell phone, & I've never even touched a cell phone, much less own one.

I tried all these recommendations. Safari is now defunct on all Hotmail. Also it crashes on almost every logout then takes ages to reload the next time around.
I've submitted to default to Firefox!
Maybe I have been scammed into this by some browser wars, but unless Apple respond to reports and I can access ways of overcoming these NEW TO ME issues, my hands are tied into dropping Safari for the first time ever.
Sad but ????

I thought Safari was bullet proof????
Possibly the worst browser you could use, but great for Apple tracking all you do.
I've reported several dozen errors to Apple with no response or clue as to how to remedy ANY of them.
Did you submit the error report to ther Round File?
Jst submitted this to MS...
Outlook is a worse interface, possibly the worst interface I've seen, & not very compatible.

The best advice I can give you it to use gmail rather than hotmail and use Apple Mail rather than a browser for email.
If after that change you still have difficulties you should consider backing up all data to an external disk and repairing your disk and permissions.
If things still don't work properly erase your disk (AFTER BACKING UP EVERYTHING to an external disk) and reinstall your OS.
